You’ve broken out into a cold, nervous sweat. Hours of work and years of sweet digital memories, gone. A computer crash is the last thing you need right now. After giving your PC a piece of your mind, you’re able to pull it together. You remember you have Backblaze. All is right with the world again.
Backblaze is a leader, if not the standard, in the data storage/backup game. They offer two products: B2 Cloud Storage and Computer Backup. ‘B2 Cloud Storage’ stores and backups your data on a cloud for a fraction of the cost of its competitors. Upload unlimited documents, photos, music and movies. You can even store digital media and develop straight on to the cloud, saving time and money.
Computer lost or stolen? Get it back! Sign in to your Backblaze account and click ‘Locate my computer’. Comparable to the find your phone feature on Apple devices. Let’s say your beloved computer isn’t recovered or the drive wiped clean. Backblaze can have a hard drive shipped right to your door, uploaded with your data. Choose the option to have a 128 GB flash drive ($99) or an external drive up to 4 TB ($189) FedEx to you.
The best part of their physical hard drive recovery is the option to return the drive within 30 days. Money back guarantee. Upload your data to your new computer and return the Backblaze drive for a full refund. Reduce clutter, save money, and restore your date. A real win-win. Now that you have Backblaze, you’d want to download the Backblaze mobile app to your mobile devices. Gain access to your files from the palm of your hand. Browse your folders like you would from your computer and download any file or all your files. Save files straight to your mobile device or share them.
Backblaze backup is available for businesses as well. Multiple servers, end-to-end integration, NAS backup, encryption, and compression, complement the standard features. Integration partnerships include Cloudberry, Synology, Archiware and many more. The business version allows for role-based permissions, multiple administrators, and group-wide reporting. Features made easy and simple to access via the dashboard.
Either product and tier are available for a 15-day trial.
Consumer – $5 a month. $50 a year (Save $10). $95 a year (Save $25).
Business – $50 a year, per computer.
B2 Cloud – Storage: $/GB/Month $0.005 & Download: $/GB
Backblaze doesn’t have unlimited versioning. Older versions of files or documents are only available for 30 days. Backblaze is more a mirroring backup product than a true archive product. Meaning it mirrors your computer’s files in real-time. Delete a file on your computer or disconnect from the network and older file versions will delete from Backblaze after 30 days.
Backblaze is a great mirroring backup solution. If you can get over the lack of unlimited versioning, then it’s an awesome backup solution. The price is right and straightforward. And so are the features. I highly recommend it for personal use.
